Moving home is often seen as a monumental task.
Because of this we find people tend to focus on the big items such as finding an estate agent, selling the house, buying the house, finding a removals company and packing.
This means that the smaller things (but no less important) get missed. And one of the most important things you need to do is to make sure you stay healthy and sane while you are doing it!
Here are our top 4 ways you can stay healthy and sane:
đ§Stay hydrated
What is the first thing to get forgotten when you get busy? Yes â you guessed it. Drinking that water! Make sure you have a glass or a bottle of it on your wherever you go â your body and your mind will thank you.
đ Eat healthily
When weâre stressed, or short of time, turning to ready-made foods and junk for empty calories is an easy quick fix. But itâs not a sensible one. You need all the energy you can muster for the house move so fresh food is your friend here. But if you plan ahead, these can be ready to grab or easy to prepare.
đ´ Get enough sleep!
Stress and anxiety do not lend themselves to a good nightâs sleep. Itâs always the middle of the night when that worry or burning question leaps into your mind. Make sure you go to bed at a sensible time and try to turn off computers, gaming and social media a good length of time before you go to sleep. Make a list of everything that might pop into your head and worry you in the night before you go to sleep. And if you do wake up, have a pad of paper by the side of your bed (not your phone) and write anything down thatâs worrying you.
đ Use a removals company ⌠and have them do your packing
This will save you time, energy and back injuries. And damage to your properties. They can take furniture apart and put it back together again. They are trained to get bulky furniture up and down stairs without scratching the walls. And if they do damage anything their insurance should pay for it.
And lots of people think by doing the packing themselves, they will save some money. By the time you have purchased all the paraphernalia to start packing and then the hours spent doing it â you are not too far off have having the removals company do it for you. Make sure you get a reputable company. Check their insurance. Ensure they donât contract out and they send you their full-time employees.
So stay healthy and sane during your house move by looking after yourself.
